What is the difference between a Clinical Nutritionist and a Dietitian?

The term nutritionist is not protected in Australia so it’s important to check for qualifications.

Dietitians complete additional postgrad training, for hospital-based care, medical nutrition therapy and specialised nutrition formulas.

Degree-qualified Clinical Nutritionists like me hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Health Science in Nutrition and often work in a public health or private practice setting, supporting long-term health, chronic symptom management and prevention.

When will I receive my personalised plan or post-session info?

You will receive an updated plan via email within 2-5 business days after your session. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, so I tailor each plan from to match your current needs and routine. I use this time to review your notes thoroughly and put together your next steps, along with any helpful handouts or recipes that will make things easier for you.

What testing options do you offer?

If we need to dig deeper than standard pathology, I offer functional testing to take the guesswork out of your health concerns:

  • Comprehensive blood analysis: I review standard blood tests through a functional lens, focusing on optimal ranges for health and energy.

  • Microbiome stool testing: Checks gut bacteria, digestion, and inflammation to find the root cause of bloating and digestive issues.

  • SIBO testing: A simple breath test for Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth, a common driver of severe gas and bloating.

  • Mineral analysis: Checks your mineral levels and heavy metal exposure to see how they impact your energy, sleep, and stress.

  • Organic Acid testing (OAT): A urine test providing a snapshot of your metabolic health, neurotransmitters, and nutrient deficiencies.

  • DUTCH hormone testing: An advanced test mapping sex and stress hormones to get to the bottom of cycle issues and burnout.

Can I claim Medicare, private health or NDIS?

Medicare rebates are currently unavailable for Clinical Nutritionists, as government guidelines restrict these to dietitians.

Private Health: Many private health funds do cover nutrition appointments. Because coverage varies depending on your provider and policy, please check directly with your fund before booking.

NDIS If you are a self-managed or plan-managed NDIS participant, you may be able to use your funding if it relates to your plan’s capacity building goals.

How many sessions do I need?

This depends on what we are working on and how much support you would like. Gut health, hormonal concerns, and chronic conditions often have multiple layers, so it takes time to uncover the root cause and trial what works for you.

Doing everything at once can feel completely overwhelming, especially if you have a busy brain.

Many clients start to notice a genuine difference within 5-8 sessions. This timeline allows us to build a clear plan, make changes gradually, and review your progress.
The pace is always flexible, and I will support you in a way that feels realistic and sustainable.
